About
This February, Roberto Alagna, a performer who has graced the world’s most prestigious stages, will captivate you with his vocal artistry. Accompanied by the NFM Choir and the NFM Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Christian Danowicz, this charismatic singer promises music lovers an evening of unforgettable experiences. Roberto Alagna’s repertoire encompasses all the major French and Italian tenor roles, including Don José ( Carmen ), Cavaradossi ( Tosca ), the Duke of Mantua ( Rigoletto ), and Canio ( Pagliacci ). Furthermore, he is an advocate for lesser-known works, such as Franco Alfano’s Cyrano de Bergerac , Jules Massenet’s Le Jongleur de Notre-Dame , and Édouard Lalo’s Fiesque . Fans of his work are also familiar with his forays into popular and traditional music, including his interpretations of Sicilian and Neapolitan songs (featured on the albums Sicilien and Malèna ), Latin American music ( Pasiòn ), and French repertoire ( Le chanteur ). In recent years, Alagna has ventured into the world of musicals, taking on the title role in Jean-Félix Lalanne’s Al Capone . Given the caliber of this artist, his recital is sure to feature a blend of absolute classics, undiscovered gems, and dazzling surprises. Roberto Alagna, a tenor with a magnetic stage presence, last appeared at the NFM exactly ten years ago, alongside soprano Aleksandra Kurzak. The artist, renowned for his evocative phrasing and powerful, resonant voice, will perform in a concert led by the distinguished violinist and concertmaster of the NFM Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra, Christian Danowicz.
