About
Composed and directed by Peng Meng-hsin, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Woodhouse Choir, "Voices of Pilgrimage: From Epic, Flame, and the Sanctuary of Sound," centers around three main themes: "Epic, Flame, and the Sanctuary of Sound." The Woodhouse Choir presents a choral performance spanning from the late 19th century to the 21st century, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles. The repertoire includes the profound aesthetics of the Russian Orthodox Church, the Nordic austerity of Sibelius and Lota, Dister's Neoclassical works, and the spiritual and exuberant compositions of contemporary Latvian and Welsh composers. The performance incorporates modern techniques such as clapping, shouting, and the use of water glasses.
