About
Colours ripple like the aurora borealis across the slow movement of Sibelius’s First Symphony, and this storm-swept romantic masterpiece is one Finnish classic that Nicholas Collon and the FRSO need no excuse to play. But Lotta Wennäkoski finds new colours of her own, in a very personal homage to Sibelius, and Britten’s youthful concerto simply dances with light and shade – especially when played by Steven Osborne, one of its pre-eminent living interpreters.
