Listen to the Land - Montsalvat

This program takes its name from FQ's long-term commissioning project with First Peoples composers, and it earns the title. At its centre, this performance is the world premiere of a new work by Chris Sainsbury. Dharug composer, academic and founder of the Ngarra-Burria First Peoples Composers Initiative, Chris drew on his doctoral research into how music can reconstitute the imagery of a place and deepen our connection to it. Jessie Leov's outside in , written for hospital patients missing the natural world, explores place with the same impetus in more intimate form.
