About
The Förderverein (support association) of the Bad Salzuflen Music School is hosting a special piano evening in the historic setting of Schloss Stietencron in Schötmar, as part of its "Concerts in the Castle" series. On Sunday, November 8, 2026, pianist Teppei Kuroda will be performing, featuring works by Johannes Brahms, including his "Six Piano Pieces" (Op. 118). This piece, composed in 1893, is one of Brahms's late piano compositions and combines quiet, reflective passages with powerful and passionate moments. The program also includes Robert Schumann's "Symphonic Études" in C minor (Op. 13), one of the great works of piano romanticism. Schumann combines virtuosic demands with a wide range of musical moods and expressive forms. Teppei Kuroda is a winner of numerous competitions in Japan and throughout Europe. He was awarded ten international prizes during his studies in Detmold, including the Brahms Piano Competition in Germany and the Orchestra'Sion Piano Competition in Turkey. He has already performed numerous solo concerts in many countries, including Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Turkey, France, Italy, and others. He has also collaborated as a soloist with around ten orchestras. He was invited to serve as a judge at the Pietro-Argento Competition in Italy, where he won first prize. In February 2025, he graduated with honors from the Hochschule für Musik Detmold, where he also holds a teaching position. The concert begins at 6:00 PM. Tickets are only available at the box office. Admission is free for students and those enrolled in higher education; adults pay 12 euros.
