It is meant to promote relaxation of body and soul, improve health, has a more cheerful character and naturally appeals to a broad audience, the spa music. A particularly successful advocate of this genre is the 'Bad Salzuflen Orchestra'. Founder and leader of the State Spa Salzuflen Orchestra is the native Hungarian György Kovacs, who studied clarinet and obtained his diploma at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest. The daily spa music is performed by a group of up to seven musicians, in the mornings and afternoons, except on Mondays. In the winter months, the orchestra performs in a smaller ensemble. The spa concerts feature in the first half potpourri, for example from operettas and overtures, and in the second half musical and popular melodies, swing, Dixieland and more. Special concerts have specific themes, such as the Italian trip with music by Verdi and Rossini, or French composers like Bizet and Massenet. The most attended are the wish concerts on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons.
