About
Poems for the Future Location: Norðurljós, Harpa Date: Saturday, October 31 Time: 11:00 AM Ages: 5–15 Admission: Free In collaboration with: Reykjavík Opera Days What does the future sound like when children get to write poetry about it? In Poems for the Future, poetry, music, and visual art come together in a diverse and creative programme that puts children’s creativity centre stage. Children’s choirs and singers perform both new and older works by Icelandic and Nordic composers, set to poems written by children. Children also take to the stage to read their own poems, while their artwork is projected on screen during the musical performances. It is a celebration of children’s voices, ideas, and creativity – and a chance for them to interpret the future in their own way. Children and their parents or guardians who would like to submit poems and artwork and take part in the project can find more information at ljodfyrirframtidina.is. Participants: Laugarneskirkja Children’s Choir Seltjarnarneskirkja Children’s Choir Opera Days Quartet Húmat Art Group, representing the Iranian Association in Iceland
