LISZT MEETS QUEEN – Virtuosität trifft Rocklegenden

Liszt's "La campanella" and "Liebestraum" meet Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Are the Champions": Wojciech Waleczek combines romantic piano virtuosity with the energy of legendary rock songs. An evening of poetry, passion, and surprising soundscapes. The first part features Liszt's piano works and his transcriptions of Fryderyk Chopin's songs. "Liebestraum No. 3" and "Consolation No. 3" create intimate, lyrical soundscapes. "La campanella," the sixth Paganini etude, and "Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2" showcase the brilliant and dramatic side of his piano playing. Chopin's songs appear in Liszt's newly arranged piano form. After the intermission, well-known Queen songs are played on piano arrangements by Kamil Pawłowski. From "Bohemian Rhapsody" to "Somebody to Love" and "Love of My Life" to "We Are the Champions," the concert offers new perspectives on familiar melodies. Vocal lines, rhythmic energy, and complex soundscapes combine to create a unique piano experience. The evening builds on Liszt's tradition of piano paraphrasing, connecting it with Queen's music in a new way. It invites both lovers of classical piano music and Queen fans to discover musical common ground across eras and styles. Wojciech Waleczek has been performing internationally for over 25 years.
