Im Glanz der Morgenröte

The concert evening begins with the opening movement from "Sunrise" by Finnish composer Ida Moberg, setting the tone for a concert focused on the dawn. Moberg, who also served as a conductor, combines natural imagery and her particular fascination with light and renewal in her orchestral suite. This short, colorful opening immediately leads to Anton Bruckner's 4th Symphony in E-flat major, known as the "Romantic" symphony: A mysterious horn call opens a vast and expansive sound world, where nature, hunting, and romantic fantasy meet. Bruckner then develops this into a grand symphonic panorama. The Leipzig Teacher's Orchestra (LLO) brings together dedicated amateurs and professionals and regularly performs in the main hall of the Gewandhaus. Since 1951, it has shaped Leipzig's cultural life; its name recalls its founding by teachers. Look forward to a captivating program in a special concert atmosphere.
