Programme
- R. V. WiliamsA Sea Symphony
About
The power of the sea, the voices, and the vastness of the orchestra. Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Sea Symphony" is a monumental work for soprano, baritone, choir, and orchestra, in which the composer combines the grandeur of a symphony with the expressive power of vocal music, drawing inspiration from Walt Whitman's poetry. Under the direction of Sergio Gili Sole, the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra will collaborate with Berliner Cappella, Konzertchor Friedenau, and the Chór Kameralny Akademii Muzycznej w Bydgoszczy. The solo parts will be performed by Lucy de Butts (soprano) and Daniel Ochoa (baritone), and together they will create a musical narrative about the sea, travel, and pushing boundaries. The project is co-funded by the Polish-German Cooperation Foundation.
