Rebekka Bakken

Rebekka Bakken has created music as enchanting as Norway’s winter landscape. Through her own songs and carefully chosen cover versions, she translates the archaic tranquillity of deep-blue fjords, the meditative solitude of snow-covered spruce forests and the dreamlike, sublime glow of the Northern Lights into a winter – a Christmas Eve – brimming with deep emotion. With her signature Rebekka Bakken sound, blending elements of picturesque Norwegian singer-songwriting with modern European jazz, she crafts a concert programme that draws its power from simplicity. Bakken places her voice squarely at the forefront; accompanied by sophisticated yet minimalist arrangements on the piano, she creates an intimate soundscape for a concert brimming with deeply felt emotions.
