About
»Our piano had a key that had shifted, so it played two notes at once. I stuck a drawing pin into it to make it hit the right note. But every time you played that note, I think it was an F-sharp, it rattled and went ›doioioioing‹! That definitely had an effect on me.« A great musical career grew out of this childhood experience. Born in Kent in 1960, multi-instrumentalist and composer Django Bates became an icon of musical mischief: pushing the buttons of different styles, seeing what happens and then quickly dashing off somewhere else. »Behind every corner lies a new mistake,« as one of his titles puts it, »simply too good to miss.«
