About
A plea against black-and-white thinking and for the attempt at cooperation, even when the opposing forces seem insurmountable. No easy answers, but an honest and self-critical attempt to find out what could still make a difference now. After many years in Rostock, Monchi, the singer of FEINE SAHNE FISCHFILET, returns to the Pomeranian province. When 54 percent of the votes in his hometown, where he knows almost everyone, go to the AfD in the federal election, he can hardly believe it. Monchi already knows: A life here only works through and with each other, despite all the contrasts. The pub where the band is planning its festival is also used for the AfD's regular gathering. A black, white, and red flag has been hoisted on the property next to the rehearsal room. But various people help, as a skate park is built for the youth. What are their fears, what are their hopes? How can one manage to look optimistically into the future, despite everything? Monchi wants to stay, where so many have already said goodbye, and to make a difference on the spot. In order to hopefully be able to grow old where he loves it so much, unlike anywhere else.
