Symphoniker Hamburg / Lukáš Vondráček / David Afkham

Beethoven's radiance sets the standard – both as a guide and a challenge. In the C minor Concerto, debutant Lukáš Vondráček meets this challenge. Unsuk Chin captures Beethoven's sudden impulses in 'subito con forza' and transforms them into today's context. Brahms seeks his own path in his First Piano Concerto, emerging from the shadow of the giant – guided by his light, without being burned by it. David Afkham keeps the forces in balance.
