Programme
- WeillViolin Concerto/ Rachmaninow: Symphonic Dances
About
A fiery energy runs through this concert: from Beethoven’s passionate »Leonore Overture« No. 3, through Kurt Weill’s rhythmically incisive Violin Concerto, to Rachmaninoff’s rousing »Symphonic Dances«. Each of these compositions ignites its own energy – dramatic, expressive, and full of sonic brilliance. Adrian Iliescu, concertmaster of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, will perform as soloist in Weill’s rarely performed Violin Concerto. Conducting this concert is Miguel Sepúlveda, a promising representative of the youngest generation of conductors, who brings a fresh perspective to this multifaceted program and makes the passion of nearly two centuries of music history immediately palpable.
