About
In ›The Unanswered Question‹, Charles Ives lent form and sound to the despairing and ultimately futile yet profoundly human search for answers: The trumpet personifies a questioning individual, and the flutes in turn standing for humanity, nature, perhaps even God. Edvard Grieg, Anna Clyne and Claude Debussy consider the same interplay from varied perspectives: Here the expanses of Norwegian landscapes are heard, the sea roars, and a remarkable woman climbs a mountain peak in search of love. With this sweeping panorama, Kazuki Yamada makes his debut as the DSO’s new Music Director.
