DR Koncerthuset
The DR Concert Hall (DR Koncerthuset) in Copenhagen opened in 2009, designed by Jean Nouvel. Its striking translucent blue façade houses four performance spaces, with the main Concert Hall seating 1,800. It is the home of the DR Symphony Orchestra, one of Scandinavia's leading orchestras, and hosts a wide range of classical and contemporary music.
Det Kongelige Teater
Det Kongelige Teater (The Royal Danish Theatre) was founded in 1748 and is Denmark's national theatre. Its historic Gamle Scene (Old Stage) on Kongens Nytorv, built in 1874, seats 1,550. The theatre is home to the Royal Danish Opera, Ballet, and Orchestra, presenting a rich programme of opera, ballet, and concerts in one of the most beautiful theatre buildings in Scandinavia.
